Cierant Corporation Opens Technology Innovation Center in Virginia

New Office Opening to Serve as Think Tank for Technology Innovation & Growth

DANBURY, CONN.— Cierant Corporation, a marketing software and services company based in Danbury, Connecticut, is expanding its presence and growing its capabilities with the opening of a new office location in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The decision to open a location in Charlottesville was driven by a desire to attract and recruit new web development talent able to work and collaborate in an innovation-orientated environment, away from the bustle of headquarters. This new talent will be dedicated to evolving and expanding Cierant’s suite of CPG and retail marketing automation solutions.

“Often at the HQ office, developers find themselves distracted by the endless flux of day-to-day requests that come in and required meetings. In setting up this new office location, we look to provide a distraction-free place where fresh talent can focus on product innovation to meet the complex challenges of our growing CPG client base,” said Lisa Cioban, owner and president of Cierant. “We’d like to think of it as our ‘innovation incubator’—a creative and collaborative place where new ideas are born.”

The company is looking to recruit individuals who are energetic and entrepreneurial, with a strong work ethic and ability to quickly adapt to new challenges. Development skill is important, but the ability to support Cierant’s culture of long-term learning is essential.

“We don’t want to hire just a ‘programmer’—we want to hire people with programming skill who are ready to grow and develop with us…people with a desire to learn and willingness to put in the extra effort to build skills in the constantly evolving web development field,” said Cioban.

Cierant felt the town of Charlottesville was a natural choice for recruiting new tech talent given the vibrant downtown scene of music, restaurants, shops and outdoor activities, which attracts young college graduates from the University of Virginia (UVA) and beyond. The company plans to develop ties with the UVA college campus, offering rich internship opportunities to technical students. Additional efforts to get integrated into the Charlottesville community including participation in events hosted by the Charlottesville Business Innovation Council (CBIC), which Cierant is a new member of.

“We know that in serving two of the most fast-changing markets—consumer goods and healthcare, we cannot afford to have our solutions stand still. We must be continuously developing next-generation solutions to meet emerging needs, and that means investing in the right talent,” said Cioban.
